We understand how frustrating unexpected charges can be. This guide covers the most common billing scenarios and how to resolve them.
Understanding how billing works
Welmi does not process payments directly and has no access to your payment information. All subscriptions are handled through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). This means Welmi cannot see your card details, issue refunds, or modify your subscription on your behalf.
Subscription types
Pro (Monthly) — recurring monthly charge
Pro (Yearly) — recurring yearly charge (may be displayed as a per-week or per-month equivalent on the purchase screen, but the actual charge is the full annual amount as a lump sum)
AI Bundle — a one-time purchase, separate from Pro
Free trial — 3 days, automatically converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends
Common billing scenarios
Charged after cancelling or during a free trial
The free trial auto-converts to a paid subscription if not cancelled before it expires. If you cancelled after the trial ended, the first charge has already been processed. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals only — it does not trigger a retroactive refund.

Double or unexpected charges
This can happen when:
You have duplicate subscriptions (e.g. subscribed on two different Apple IDs or once on iPhone and once on Android)
The charge is for a different product — the AI Bundle is a separate purchase from Pro and may appear as an additional charge
Finding and cancelling duplicate subscriptions:
iPhone: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → look for multiple Welmi entries and cancel any duplicates.
Android: Google Play → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → look for multiple Welmi entries and cancel any duplicates.
Charged full yearly amount when expecting monthly
If you selected the yearly plan, the charge is a single lump-sum payment for the full year. The purchase screen may show a per-week or per-month breakdown for comparison, but the actual charge is the annual total. You can verify your current plan in the app's subscription settings.
Subscription not recognized after reinstalling
If you reinstalled Welmi and your subscription is not showing, use the Restore button in the app's subscription screen. This re-links your existing purchase without creating a new charge. See Restore your purchase for the full guide.

Web purchases (Stripe / T-SHAPED APPS LTD)
If you see a charge from T-SHAPED APPS LTD on your bank statement, this is a Welmi web purchase processed through Stripe. Web purchases have a separate cancellation and refund process.

Frequently asked questions
I don't see a free trial option. Free trials are available once per Apple ID or Google account. If you have used a trial before (even if you cancelled), the trial option will not appear again.
I cancelled but still have access. Cancelling stops future renewals. You retain access until the end of your current billing period. This is normal.
Can Welmi issue a refund directly? No. Welmi does not process payments, so refunds must be requested through Apple or Google. See How to request a refund on iPhone or How to request a refund on Android.
What is the AI Bundle? Is it the same as a Pro subscription? No. The AI Bundle is a one-time purchase that unlocks two specific extra features: the AI Health Report and Body Scan. It is not a subscription, and it does not include access to food scanning, calorie tracking, AI recognition, or other Pro features. Food scanning and other core features require a separate Pro subscription (monthly or yearly). If you have been charged twice — once for the Bundle and once for Pro — these are two distinct products, not a duplicate charge. See Plans and pricing for details.
I paid for lifetime access — why is the app asking me to pay again? If you made a one-time payment (sometimes described as "lifetime", "pay once", or "permanent access" at checkout), you most likely purchased the AI Bundle. The Bundle gives permanent access to the AI Health Report and Body Scan only. It does not unlock food scanning, calorie tracking, or other Pro features — those require a separate Pro subscription. The Bundle and the Pro subscription are two independent products.
I made a one-time payment, but I'm being charged a second time. Is this a duplicate charge? No. These are two different products. Your one-time payment was for the AI Bundle (Body Scan + AI Health Report). The recurring charge is for the Pro subscription, which covers food scanning, calorie tracking, and other core features. Each is billed separately by Apple or Google.
I bought Welmi for life, but my features are still locked. The one-time "lifetime" purchase is the AI Bundle, which gives permanent access to the AI Health Report and Body Scan only. To unlock food scanning and the rest of the app, you also need an active Pro subscription.
Can I switch from yearly to monthly? Yes. Cancel your current yearly subscription, wait for it to expire at the end of the billing period, then resubscribe on the monthly plan. See How to cancel on iPhone or How to cancel on Android.
Is there an alternative payment method? Welmi subscriptions are available through the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). There is no direct credit card option in the app. On iOS, you can use an Apple Gift Card as a workaround to pay without a credit card on file.
Is there a family subscription? No, Welmi does not offer a family sharing plan at this time.
The app keeps asking me to subscribe even though I already paid. Update to the latest version of Welmi and use the Restore button on the pricing screen to re-link your existing subscription. See Restore your purchase.
A payment failed — do I owe money? No. Failed payments do not create a debt. If a renewal payment fails, your subscription will lapse and you can resubscribe when ready.
How do I remove my card from Welmi? Welmi does not store your payment information. To update or remove your payment method, go to your Apple ID settings (iPhone) or Google Play payment settings (Android).
